Engagement Shoot: The Jennas

I cannot get enough of this engagement session. I love the styling… but then again I am one to love anything preppy and americana. This is a favorite.

From Mathy (Matt & Kathy): This was a cute engagement session in Annapolis, MD. The Jennas (as they affectionately call themselves) are the sweetest girls and the cutest couple! They just oooze love for each other. We walked near the docks and then headed into town for a few more shots. Loved this session!

From Anne: Our wedding was on the most gorgeous day the San Juan Islands had seen all summer! Both our ceremony and reception took place at Odd Fellows Hall, an historic hall perfectly situated on the water in Eastsound, Washington. We chose Orcas Island because Allyson’s family has been vacationing here since she was young and they brought me here several years ago when we first started dating. Since then, we have created our own memories in this magical place, and we saw our wedding as an opportunity to share it with our family and friends.

Our wedding was such an incredible day, full of joy and love and lots of emotions. We are so lucky to have so many supportive people in our lives, and we both have inherited even more in our partner’s families and friends. With 100 people coming from 16 different states, our wedding weekend was a great opportunity for new friendships to form and for people to catch up that had not seen each other for a while.

My favorite part of the day was Allyson and me singing “I’ve Just Seen A Face” by the Beatles out on the balcony with all of our friends and family standing around. We love to sing together at home or around a campfire with friends, and this gave us a chance to share that with everyone we love. Honestly, it all went by way too quickly! But I’m happy to have some great pictures and it’s nice to hear family and friends still bring it up their favorite moments. I know we will think back on it fondly for years and years.

Wedding: Leital & Veronica

You know that perfect wedding legend of gathering family and friends in an idyllic location of rustic buildings and fields of wildflowers. Of endless revelry that begins early in the afternoon with a meaningful ceremony and ends late at night with a bonfire and sparklers. Where everyone sticks around and no one leaves after cake.

Well, Leital and Veronica’s Blooming Hill Farm wedding is just that. Lesbian wedding perfection.

Wedding: Elise & Sam

Oh my. These wedding photos start off perfectly lovely with two gorgeous brides and a sweet glow of sunshine.

And then bam. It hits you. These brides are f*cking rad.

From Elise and Samantha: Well, Aug. 4 turned out to be the perfect wedding day. The weather was ideal, our dresses didn’t clash like we worried they would, and we felt so amazingly loved and supported. Our only regret is that we didn’t take a minute to just look around at how everything we planned came together. But our pictures, by David Newkirk, are amazing and captured the day perfectly. Brynn Larsen, with Blooms & Co., made all our flowers and bouquets look incredible, and our vegan cake was made by Salt Lake City’s wonderful vegan bakery, City Cakes & Cafe. The band is the Folka Dots. We received numerous favors from friends to help us make our day ours, and we couldn’t have been happier with it all!

If these two brides look familiar it’s because they were featured in what is probably my favorite engagement session.

Wedding: Jess & Toni

I’m not one for hyperbole so trust me when I say that I gasped out loud when I saw this two bride wedding shot by Elissa R Photography. Jess and Toni are stunning, their event sounds like the perfect day, and the photos that captured it all are gorgeous.

From Elissa: Jess and Toni traveled to Texas from Indiana to have their intimate restaurant ceremony at Paloma Blanca in San Antonio. Their ceremony was on a private patio there, and it was so laid-back — friends and family arrived, had some drinks, watched them exchange vows, and cheerfully chatted with each other over Mexican food and champagne. It was such a nice, relaxed, and joyful event!

Wedding: Jodie & Amanda

Another lovely British lesbian wedding (aka Civil Partnership)! I’m not sure if it’s because the Brits have real royalty but in my experience they know how to do ‘princess’ properly!

From the brides: We met 5 years ago in Greece, whilst on holiday and have not had a day apart since. We got married on December 29th 2011 which is Amanda’s Mum & Dad’s wedding anniversary. The theme was winter wonderland, with 5ft snowflakes, huge matching wedding dresses, a sleigh for the flower girls and page boys (handmade by Jodie’s Dad) and snowflake themed cake, invites and favours. Everything was white and sparkly, from the decor to our dresses. Our whole families and all of our friends were present and it was a fabulous day which will never be forgotten.
