Engagement: Ericka & Emily

From Ericka and Emily’s photographer, Bryan: We had the best time at Ericka and Emily’s engagement session! We began in their beautiful apartment and focused a lot on their stoop outside. They are extremely proud of their apartment and spend a lot of time hanging out front, taking in the sights of their tree-lined block. Afterwards, we made our way to Prospect Park where they will be having their ceremony. I got photographs of them in front of a Notorious B.I.G. mural which was at the top of their shot list. We planned on ending the session with lunch at an Ethiopian establishment. The two had met in Ethiopia while in the Peace Corps, so some images of them sharing authentic cuisine from that region was important to them. Unfortunately, the restaurant was not going to be open for another hour. That was our only disappointment of the day. After our incredible outing together, I am extremely excited to document their big day!

I rememeber when you two came to our pre service training to talk about gay issues in Ethiopia. I said something about you two being a couple, and one or both, I don’t remember, quickly denied that you were a couple. I knew even if you didn’t. 🙂 Congratulations and the best of luck, I have no doubt it will be a wonderful journey for both of you.
