The babies have arrived!
Graysen Anna Beal and Pierson Ross Beal arrived early monday morning via c-section at 34 weeks, 4 days gestational age after my water broke at home late sunday night. We weren’t expecting them quite that early!
Graysen weighed 4 lb, 8 oz and Pierson weighed 4 lb, 12 oz.
I was discharged from the hospital yesterday and am feeling reasonably good. The babies are still in the NICU which is as to be expected with preemie babies. They are telling us to expect them to be there for about a month. They are both doing well and are breathing on their own and able to do most of their feedings via bottle (rather than IV or feeding tube) or breast.
Angela and I are spending hours on end in the NICU but the silver lining is that we are learning a ton about how to take care of babies (we hadn’t a clue!) and we don’t have to fret over their well-being because the nurses are amazing.
I may be a bit biased but I think the babies are GORGEOUS! They look amazingly similar to one another although G’s complexion is fair and red like mine and P has olive skin like Ang.
