Lesbian Engagement Shoot: Kristin & Diana

From Weak at the Knees Photography: We are so excited to share this engagement session of one of the most loving couples we have ever photographed.  Kristin and Diana met in Kazakhstan over 6 years ago.  Finally, since New York has recognized gay marriage and they have a chance to say “I Do” in front of all of their family and friends, they wanted some very special photos to commemorate their engagement in the city that they love.

We shot these images on March 11 in DUMBO.  We began on the water, capturing the grand architecture of the Manhattan and Brooklyn bridges spanning across the East River, with the Manhattan skyline in the background, and taking a seat by the newly restored Jane’s Carousel, exquisitely carved in 1922.  We then made our way through the winding cobblestone streets of old brick warehouses and cool graffiti.  How perfect is the building with the word “love” scribbled all over its facade!

For the film, we chose Fuji Pro400H color, giving it a vintage-y tone shot through our Olympus 35-RC, and for the black and whites, super contrast-y and crisp Ilford XP2 Super 400 in our Canon AE-1.
