Wedding: Amalia & Melissa

Back to back New York City Housing Works Bookstore lesbian weddings (that’s a mouthful)! We all love Julie & Rebecca’s chic wedding that we ran yesterday but Amalia and Melissa’s wedding is just and fantastic AND it has Spring written all over it. Local NYC Photographer Elizabeth Lloyd captured the day perfectly.

From Elizabeth: Amalia and Melissa are two big hearted Brooklynites who chose to celebrate their wedding at Housing Works Bookstore in Soho, NYC. Housing Works is a healing community of people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS whose mission is to end the dual crises of homelessness and AIDS through relentless advocacy, the provision of lifesaving services, and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain their efforts. The girls and their friends got ready at their homes in Brooklyn. After a first look beneath the flowering pink trees everyone joined together and had a fun ride on the subway over to the event! The ceremony was held beneath a beautiful patchwork quilted chuppah in front of floor to ceiling bookcases. Strung lights overhead creating an intimate glow for the ceremony. Following the ceremony guests enjoyed a beautiful candlelit dinner amongst the bookstacks.

I have to wonder why they have a picture in front of a dentist’s office… Is one of them a dentist? The father of one of the brides? Are they just grateful for their (very very) radiant smiles?
