I was blown away when I received this wedding submission from Helen. The wedding was lovely and middle America / Southerners are gorgeous but that last picture in the rain is downright sexy.
We had a crafty, low-budget wedding in Oklahoma because we wanted to celebrate our commitment to one another with the people we love, even though our marriage isn’t recognized by law there or in Arkansas (where we live.) The months leading up to the wedding were an explosion of crafting and baking- we baked all of the 1000+ desserts for our afternoon dessert reception and made all of the decorations, down to the curtains in the building! It was a spectacular day, so full of joy and love, and I would wish it for anyone getting married- whether their union is legally recognized or not.
